The Benefits of a Main-Floor Bedroom

The Benefits of a Main-Floor Bedroom

When thinking about your new Infinity Custom home in suburban Pittsburgh, do you envision an open-concept, spacious first floor with plenty of room to move? Perhaps you are looking forward to having your first floor owner’s suite on the main floor to reduce trips up and down the stairs? There are so many reasons to consider a first-floor bedroom as one of your top new home features. Here are a few:

Easier to Navigate

Most of today’s homes are built with open-concept layouts on the main level. Your kitchen may flow into the dining room or cafe, which is open to the living room and the patio beyond. When your bedroom is on the first floor, it’s easy to step out into your kitchen or living area any time of day or night, without worrying about stairs or walls.

More Peace and Quiet

Today’s multi-level homes are constructed with excellent noise barriers between floors, but if you’d prefer more complete privacy or less noise in the evenings, a first-floor owner’s suite is the way to go. In our unique low-maintenance floorplans, these bedrooms are tucked away from the main living spaces to reduce traffic near the door.

Pleasant Experience for Guests

While not necessarily on the main floor, a guest suite is always a great idea, especially if you have frequent visitors. Our homes have an option for a spacious, comfortable bedroom with an adjacent full bathroom, tucked away in the finished basement. (Which may also include a kitchenette – creating a de facto apartment.) This is also convenient for a sick family member or one who is recovering from surgery, so they can easily access a small kitchen and living area, and still have privacy. When not in use, the basement guest suite can be a flex space for working, studying, exercising, and more.
