Customize Your Home with These Add-On Rooms

Customize Your Home with These Add-On Rooms

In today’s real estate market, a truly custom home is increasingly difficult to come by. Between supply chain issues and rising materials costs, more and more builders are turning to pre-selected design packages that leave little room for customization, and understandably so.

At Infinity Custom Homes, though, we stand by our name in that we are still able to build custom homes in Pittsburgh and its most desirable surrounding areas. We do this by asking customers to first select a base floorplan as a starting point. From there we can add a variety of rooms and design features that make the home perfectly tailored to the homeowners’ lifestyle. Here are just a few of the room types that we can add to many of our floorplans:

Outdoor Living Space – Patio or Deck

A variety of back patio sizes can be added to most floorplans. Whether you prefer a wide patio that spans the length of your family room, a covered option so you can enjoy your outdoor space in any weather, or a small space just to fit a few chairs and sit in the sun, you can have the outdoor living space (or several!) that you’ve always wanted. Options for customizing your outdoor space can also include an outdoor kitchen or fireplace based on the floorplan.

Front Porch

If you love spending time on a welcoming front porch and chatting with neighbors as they pass, or decorating for each season of the year, you’ll love the options to expand this feature in an Infinity Custom home. Choose a wide, covered front porch in a variety of lengths, or even a wrap-around porch that lets you take advantage of the sun from multiple angles.

Hearth Room

A hearth room is a cozy space just off the family room which usually includes an optional wet bar for entertaining. It’s great for intimate conversations or for friends and loved ones to keep you company while you prepare a meal.

Guest Suite

Although many of our homes feature enough bedrooms for family and visitors alike, it’s always nice when guests have their own, completely private, suite that includes an attached bath. Everyone will have much-needed peace and quiet when they retire for the night.

Study

With many of us working from home in some capacity, a separate study or office is often a necessity and is included in most of our floorplans. However, you can design one with large bay windows for maximum sunlight (perfect for online meetings), or with built-in shelving to accommodate all your books and work materials.

Extended Mudrooms with a Pantry

A mudroom is the perfect way to keep your house clean, clutter-free, and is included with all of our floorplans. With the entrance from the garage and near the laundry room, muddy shoes or wet clothing can come off and be washed before anyone steps foot in the house. Some of our floorplans have the ability to customize with more space for lockers, benches, cubbies, or an added pantry, so there’s plenty of room to store all your dry goods and small kitchen appliances — nice and neat and out of the way.

Additional Garage Bays

We know that in a large family or even extended family staying with you, a 3-car garage, which is included with most of our floorplans, might not be enough. With our customized garage options, you can add an additional space in your garage to accommodate cars or recreational vehicles, or simply use the larger space as indoor storage. And to make leaving or returning home a breeze for family or friends staying with you, you have the option to customize a separate friend’s entrance even with a covered patio.

Third Floor Loft Area

In most of our floorplans there is a space for an optional finished or unfinished loft space on the third floor. Whether you need some more storage space or room for family or kids to have a hangout spot, this space can be customized from the windows, to benches, to kitchenettes. The third floor loft is a great space in the home to customize to your needs.

Whatever type of space you need, Infinity Custom Homes can build it, even in today’s challenging market.
